What career advice would you give yourself from 5 years ago?

Let me know what would you warn about? Or what would you do differently? Share your advices 🙏

Very good topic!

I don't know if I would have done anything differently, as much as I would have liked to be much relaxed and chill. Like don't overthink stuff, keep it simple, don't blame yourself too much, it's ok to have impostor syndrome and so on.

But if I had to choose, I think the most important of all would be "It's ok not to know them all. You don't have to".

Thanks for your reply, Gabriel. It's good idea to not blame ourselves for not knowing things. We learn all of our lives and every decision make the person we are right now.

Wow, there's so much I wish I could tell past me!

  • Don't just focus on you technical skills. The soft skills are just as important (if not more so!)
  • It's okay not to know all the technologies out there. You will never know them all. Focus on learning how to learn so you can pick up different things when you need them.
  • Write about what you know and learn. It's more valuable than you understand right now, but you will be glad you took the time.

But most importantly...

  • You're doing great, keep it up. There are some people who will try to knock you down. But I promise you will get back up and be better for it.
